An Unsolved Murder in Blaine. From the Blaine Journal Serinda Adeline (Addie) Roper. Born May 24,1868 was the second Daughter of Robeath she stoert Henry Roper and second wife Margaret L.Kirkpatrick Richey. She was Murdered on the 19th of Jan,1907.In Blaine,Wa. She was a very loved person in the community,When they held her Funeral,Every shop in town,even the Bank closed for the Day,So the Whole town could attend her Funeral. Addie Roper was born in the State of Missouri May 24th 1868. About 23 years ago she came with her Parents to this Section of the County where she has lived, with the Exception of a few years, Ever since. She United with M.E.Church of Port Townsend some 12 years ago and has been a Member that Denomination ever since.Miss Roper was a Loving,Gentle, and Kind. A True Friend of the Poor,the Sick, and the Needy. On the way home on that Fatal Evening when she met her Death she stopped and left Fruit with a sick Friend and Promised to see him the next Day.In Miss Roper,s Death Blaine has lost one of the Choicest Women and the Memory of the Beautiful Life Will have an Abiding Influence over the lives of others.
